You will know the truth and the truth will make you free! Although, this is true one needs to believe Who the truth is. Jesus is the truth as He said I am the Way the Truth and the Life (John 14:6). Without knowing Jesus, man will never be able to walk in real freedom. Today’s society says that everybody is free to live life the way he or she finds it to be fit. The result of this is that many people live a life of being oppressed, addicted, or morally derailed. The fact is that mankind is subject to a higher authority and accountable to the One who holds the truth, His name is Jesus. Rejecting this truth enslaves mankind and brings them in bondage. Living in freedom starts by accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior. However, many believers today do not experience the freedom Jesus bought for them on the Cross. This might be because the enemy has robbed believers from knowing who they are in Christ. Believers need to become aware of the position they hold as followers of Jesus.
The Word of God tells us, that we are seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus at the right hand of the Father (Ephesians 2:6). Being aware that we have this position is the beginning of experiencing true freedom. When we understand who we are in Christ and which position we have in Him, we need to learn to walk in it. We are seated in heavenly places far above powers and principalities, we need to believe it, exercise it, and live it.
We are not victims of our sinful nature; we can live a life holy unto the Lord. We need to be aware that we have an adversary while we live on this earth, who wants to bind and enslave us. Nor are we defenseless against oppression, addiction and whatever spirit or stronghold the devil places on our way. We can break spirits and strongholds of the enemy by commanding them to let go and proclaiming liberty for He has given us His authority (Luke 10:19). There is power in your mouth (Matthew 11:24). Let us walk in the freedom which Christ has given us for He has broken every chain.
